Academic Endorsements
Students earning an Academic Endorsement complete a rigorous, interdisciplinary course of study designed to prepare them for a successful experience in college and future career opportunities in current or emerging professions.
Why an Academic Endorsement?
At Columbus East High School, students have the opportunity to complete a comprehensive, interdisciplinary, curriculum-based course of study. The Academic Endorsement highlights a student's dedication to rigorous academic study and prepares them for success in post secondary school. This college preparatory program enables students to see the relationship among academic subjects and their application to a broad field of work.
An Academic Endorsement requires students to concentrate on a specific course of study that includes advanced, AP, or honors courses and are enrolled for the Honors Seal or Academic Honors Diploma. Through these challenging courses, students may earn college credits and even test out of entry-level college classes, giving them a head start in their higher education journey.
Additionally, students who achieve an Academic Endorsement are recognized for their accomplishments at graduation and are distinguished by wearing a special Academic Endorsement Graduation Stole, celebrating their hard work and academic achievement.
