Indiana Diploma
Beginning with the Class of 2029, all Indiana students will graduate under the Indiana Diploma. At Columbus East, every Olympian earns the 42-credit base diploma — and we encourage every student to go further by pursuing an Honors Seal in Enrollment, Employment, or Enlistment & Service. These seals highlight a student’s readiness for college, career, or service and open important opportunities after graduation.
Overview
Starting with the Class of 2029 (students entering 9th grade in Fall 2025), Indiana students will graduate under the Indiana Diploma.
-
Every student must earn the base 42-credit diploma.
-
Students may also earn Honors Seals in three readiness areas:
-
Enrollment (college readiness)
-
Employment (career/workforce readiness)
-
Enlistment & Service (military/public service readiness)
-
-
Seals are optional, but if earned, they replace Graduation Pathways requirements and give recognition of readiness.
At Columbus East, our hope is that every Olympian graduates ready for college, career, or service.

Which Seal is Right for Me?
At Columbus East, our goal is for every Olympian to graduate with a seal. Seals not only open doors but also show colleges, employers, and the community that our students are prepared for what comes next.
Think about your future plans:
-
I’m planning to go to college or university.
→ The Enrollment Plus Seal is for you. It guarantees automatic admission into Indiana’s public colleges and universities (IU, Purdue, Ball State, Ivy Tech, Indiana State, USI, and Vincennes) and shows you’re academically ready.
→ The Enrollment Seal also recognizes strong academic preparation in advanced coursework and a solid GPA, but it does not include automatic admission.
-
I want to go straight into the workforce, trades, or an apprenticeship after high school.
→ The Employment Seal is a great fit. It proves you’ve earned career-ready credentials, completed 150+ hours of real work experience, and developed the skills employers value most.
-
I’m interested in serving in the military, ROTC, or a public safety career.
→ The Enlistment & Service Seal is designed for you. Even without JROTC at BCSC, you can pursue this seal through Public Service coursework, ASVAB achievement, and mentorship opportunities.
Why Pursue a Seal?
-
Seals replace Graduation Pathways requirements—a simpler, streamlined way to graduate.
-
Seals recognize your hard work with a special distinction on your diploma.
-
Seals give you an edge for college admission, jobs, and scholarships.
-
Seals show the community that Olympians are college-ready, career-ready, and service-ready.
