Team 2029: Parent Meeting Resources & Information

New Indiana Diploma
The Class of 2029 will be the first group to graduate under the new Indiana Diploma.
All students will:
- Earn the 42-credit base diploma
- Be encouraged to complete a Readiness Seal
Readiness Seals replace the previous Graduation Pathways and help demonstrate what a student is prepared for after high school.
Seal Options:
- Enrollment (college)
- Employment (career/trade)
- Enlistment & Service (military/public safety)

Work-Based Learning (WBL)
Work-Based Learning is a required component of the new diploma system and will be completed over the course of high school.
Key Points:
- Experiences can be real or simulated workplace settings
- Each experience must be at least 25 hours
- Students can combine up to 3 experiences
Hour Requirements by Pathway:
- 75 hours – Enrollment Plus
- 150 hours – Employment
- 650 hours – Employment Plus
All WBL experiences:
- Must include a training plan
- Must be approved in advance
- Will be tracked through the Pathways system
- Include a final reflection or evaluation

Indiana College Core (ICC) & AP Opportunities
Students planning to attend college can begin earning college credit in high school through:
- Indiana College Core (ICC) – 30 transferable college credits
- Advanced Placement (AP) courses and AP Scholar recognition
These options are part of the Enrollment Plus Seal, which can lead to automatic admission into Indiana public colleges.

Academic Endorsements at Columbus East
Students can also pursue a focused pathway in an area of interest, such as:
- Engineering
- Medical Science
- Computer Science
- Public Services
- Visual & Performing Arts
These pathways help students:
- Explore career interests
- Build relevant skills
- Prepare for college or workforce opportunities

Preparing for Sophomore Year
Team 2029 students have already completed key freshman courses such as:
- PE
- Health
- Computer Foundations
- Preparing for College & Careers (PCC)
This creates flexibility moving forward as they begin to shape their high school experience.
